Things we should avoid when designing a Web site

We’re all human, we all make mistakes, and sometimes as designers we make some mistakes because that’s what our customers want. We have to try to educate our customers and explain to them other options for their own good. This is a list of 4 things that Blog Euphorish, recommends us when it comes time to design.

Flash:
A site fully designed and created with Flash only might be pretty and modern, but this can be a double-edged sword. Some people, around 80%, once they find themselves in front of a Flash site, the rather skip it.
Some navigators cannot read Flash, and if your menu is in Flash, it won’t be indexed. The loading time will be longer if the page is all “Flash-y”, even if you have a fast connection, you’ll have to wait a couple seconds.

Requirements:
When it comes to designing, we shouldn’t expect our viewers to have a certain resolution, every single person that goes into the web site, should be able to see it perfectly.

Pop-ups:
The ton of pop-ups that appear when you enter for the first time into a web site, that’s why now most of the navigator programs have blockers.

Sounds:
Unless you have a really good reason to use sounds in a web site, don’t use them.
