Everyboydygoto.com tells us about 7 things that we used to see in Web 1.0 Sites, which have disappeared from Web 2.0 Sites. Those old days when IE was the monopoly Internet browser.

Beside better design, we can say that we no longer see:

Best Viewed in:

This was a popular phrase that indicated if the Web Site was seen better with Internet Explorer or Netscape. Some of them even told us the resolution that we needed for our monitor.

Get Flash Player:

I think that the reason why we don’t see this phrase anymore is because 98% of Internet Users have Flash installed in their computers.

Tables:
With the arrival of CSS Web Sites became cleaner. And the use of tables has reduced.

Once the Web Site indicated which browser to use and the resolution for our monitor, it encouraged us to give another click to enter the Web Site.

Flash Intros:

With the appearance of Flash, all of us wanted to put up an introduction to our Web Site.

Loading, please wait:
Once we had finished creating our intro in Flash, visitors had to spend lots of minutes waiting for the animation to load. It was agony for those with 56k modems.

Resizing Browsers:
I think that this used to happen in Web Sites that encouraged us to give a “click to enter” the Web Site. In which another browser’s window showed in a predetermined size.

Hit Counters:
I don’t know why, but before all of us used to want people to see how many visitors our web site had.
