The Ten Commandments of Origami

11 Sep, 2007

  1. Choosing the right paper and properly cutting the size and shape according to the figure you want to do.
  2. Always need and clean.
  3. Every fold and pleat has to be donde with precision, that’s the reason why you need to work over a hard and smooth superface while folding the paper.
  4. You need to go over the pleats and folds with the nail of the thumb, they will get more definition, hence the remaining steps will be easier.
  5. The more careful you are while folding, the better the outcoming figure.
  6. You need to follow the steps in the precise order you see them.
  7. You cannot jump any step in the process. That’s why you always need to keep in mind your last and your next step throughout the whole process.
  8. You need to respect all the instruction given; for example, the way the corners should be folded, how to fold the figure, etc.
  9. He who has never done or has never practiced with an Origami figurine before, should start with the basic figures.
  10. Respecting every single rule and instruction, doing all the foldings in a neat and clean manner, the more you shall enjoy the results.
