Lorem ipsum

26 Sep, 2007

I’m pretty sure that as a designer, whether graphic or web, in a certain moment you have use the text Lorem ipsum to fill the gaps of text in your design. You have most likely done this before to let your client be focused and centered in the design, so he/she doesn’t lose the idea trying to decrypt what the text is saying.

Have you ever wondered where is this text coming from?

The Blog, Lo que quiere saber{What you want to know}, is giving us the answer.

wikipedia:

Lorem ipsum (in short, lipsum) is the text used normally in graphic design in typographic demonstrations or design drafts to test the visual design before inserting the final text. It’s also known as Greeking.

Since this is written in classic language{the most common which is derived from classic Latin} seems to attract a lot of attention from it’s meaning. Nonetheless, the meaning of the text itself has no relevance due to the fact that if a text is legible, the users tend to focus in what the text actually says and not on the design, which is in this case the objective.
