How much should I charge for a design?

dineroI think this is a very hard question for every designer. Simply because there is no standard pricing for this, everyone will charge what they think is just fair. Sometimes even, there is a certain moment in the development process when we think that the design was too extend to complete and the downpayment to low.

A personal rule of mine: I DO NOT underestimate my work.

It doesn’t matter how simply the designs seems to be, don’t give it out for free. Graphic designing is a profession just like any other and it should never be underestimated.

Freelance Switch mentions the first aspect to take in consideration before taking the decision on the price is the time you spent doing that design. Personally speaking, I couldn’t agree more, this is for me the best price measure, then I just multiply this for my hour rate and it’s done!

How do you calculate the price of your designs?
