Things to remember when we create a logo

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

A logo is the center piece of a corporate image. It’s without a doubt the single piece that a corportation must invest time in. Is the single piece that will represent the image of the corporation for the next coming years. Both the concurrence as well as your customers will relate the enterprise with this image. Is the first impression and what the company stands for.

A piece of advice: Don’t let anybody with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, install your logo. Let a pro do it for you!

  • A logo cannot have a photography
  • The logo has to be in vectors
  • The best quality colors are requiered.
  • The logo has to work perfectly both black and white as well with colors on it.
  • The logo must work over any surface.
  • Undestandable fonts are a must.

These are a few factors that make a logo functional, because it should be clearly appreciated in small fliers as well as on big propagandas.

Keep your logo as simple as possible

Monday, February 4th, 2008

When you get the chance to design a logo, you need to make sure it’s going to work anywhere. This means that your logo has to work both for big and small sizes. Many times we design a logo and we completely forget about this.

Remember a logo is a milestone in the corporate image. Feel free to think while designing your logo: where is this going to be used?, how is it going to be printed?, etc. This will give you a more clear idea and will give you designing criteria.

I think it’s a very good idea that while you design the logo to can try to see how it looks in different sizes to see every single detail. Try it also in black and white because it might be used as well like this when printed at least once.

The new sony logo

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

This is the new logo for sony. It represents the keys on the control for the Playstation (X, O, square and triangle) all of them gathered around a circle. It was unclear of it’s use, either for a game or for an application. It seems it’s going to be used for the Network of Playstation for Europe.Do you think Sony should have more than one logo?
