Normally people advice us not to think “silly stuff”, or going through our thoughts. We normally listen to these type of advices from teachers and professors. When we go to a company, on the other hand, they hire only the most talented and highly creative personnel.
The person that can keep and understand the next 5 skills, will most-likely become a highly creative person:
Divergent thought
It’s about having all the possible ideas during a certain amount of time. Developing the subject over different perspectives and designs, and then breaking it down.
Lateral thought
Avoiding resolving the issue in one way, there are countless possibilities of solving problems, don’t stick to one.
Intuitive thinking
Trust your gut! Listen to your feeling, and follow them.
Positive thinking
Because a prior idea didn’t work well, it doesn’t mean that your next idea won’t be genius.
Idea dissection
Applying ideas, giving ideas and then develop them.

A logo is the center piece of a corporate image. It’s without a doubt the single piece that a corportation must invest time in. Is the single piece that will represent the image of the corporation for the next coming years. Both the concurrence as well as your customers will relate the enterprise with this image. Is the first impression and what the company stands for.
A piece of advice: Don’t let anybody with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, install your logo. Let a pro do it for you!
- A logo cannot have a photography
- The logo has to be in vectors
- The best quality colors are requiered.
- The logo has to work perfectly both black and white as well with colors on it.
- The logo must work over any surface.
- Undestandable fonts are a must.
These are a few factors that make a logo functional, because it should be clearly appreciated in small fliers as well as on big propagandas.

If I could number the times I’ve heard the phrase “it’ just that am not creative today” or “am havin’ a low creativy day”. I would be in the millions. When you’re a graphic designer you need tons of creativity to develop all your works. It’s true that we cannot be “inspired” all the time, there are factors that affect us like: hours of sleep, lack of concentration, mental fatigue, etc.
It’s important to stay focused, in order to do this, let me give you a couple advices:
Look, look at everything: If you’re standing in front of a street light. If you’re waiting for a bus, check out the ads on it. Look at a magazine. Look at anything.
Go and take a walk: it’s not only healthy, you’ll also be able to relax your mind.
Take a nap: Trust me, sleeping just a couple hours will not make your imagination raise. You’ll lose a lot of time and you’ll be highly irritated, etc. The lack of sleep can turn people into monsters. Take at least a 15 minute nap and check out the difference!
Listen to music: Make sure it’s not a stressing music, make sure it helps you relax, not dance!
Go “Window Shopping”: See catalogues, stores, stands, magazines, ads, anything will be useful for your imagination. Malls are full of colors and ideas will flow right into your head, just bring pen and paper.

In certain jobs, there are stereotypes; like for example, we always think that a secretary has to be a woman, but nowadays we know that there are also men doing these jobs without problems.Have you ever thought, but it might happen that some people think that an X design had to be made by a man and a Y design had to be made by a woman? This reminds me the time when a professor of mine challenged the men in the class to do a design of a baby doll for little girls, while girls had to do a design for a boys.
He used to say that these activities were necessary, because in this business you don’t know who you are designing for. I honestly believe that the gender doesn’t affect the final resolution or quality of the design.

Team work will help you achieve all your goals. In order to develop great ideas when doing team work, it’s very important to keep a certain points clear, so success can be achieved as soon as possible. All should know the subject to develop. Even if it doesn’t sound very logical, you’d be amazed of the number of people that sit down for a meeting without a clue of the subjects they are about to discuss.
All the members of the team must have the same amount of participation. Nobody is nobody’s boss.
There are no bad ideas. All ideas and thoughts should be considered, even if they sound crazy at first, great things came out of “crazy thoughts” before they were discovered.
Keeping a record of the ideas. Record your brainstormings or write them down.
Silence is the worst enemy. If nobody speaks, no ideas are flowing.
Interruptions are banned. Let others speak up their minds, let them finish their ideas and then you start talking.
Start the meeting when everybody is wide awake. Make your meetings at middle of the morning before noon, when most of the members in the meeting are active and not sleepy.

These posters where created by a Turkish agency, and I love them. They present some NBA players, the old snicker idea is finally broken.
